When
you consider that this area was predominantly GWR Country it
must be regarded as quite miraculous that the Lambourn Valley
Railway
actually existed as an independant company at all. But, for
Seven years, it did just that, Then in 1905, the LVR was swallowed
up by the
mighty GWR and, although it never lost any of it's rural charm,
the Lambourn line became in essence, just another GWR branch
line. |
